Many patients are familiar with DUTCH testing. While DUTCH testing uses dried urine to evaluate hormone metabolites, saliva testing offers a different — and often more direct — clinical advantage, depending on your goals.

Saliva Testing (ZRT):
Measures free, bioavailable hormones (the active form at the tissue level)
Excellent for symptom-correlated hormone assessment
Ideal for:
Perimenopause & menopause

Libido concerns
Sleep issues

Adrenal stress & cortisol rhythm
Non-invasive and easy to collect at home

DUTCH Testing (Urine):
Measures hormone metabolites and detox pathways
Useful when specifically evaluating estrogen metabolism or phase I/II detox
Often more complex and higher cost
Not always necessary for first-line hormone evaluation
